A significant component of an HR system is the management of employee absences. The system keeps track of the annual leave days per year, the transferred annual leave days, earned to date days, the annual leave days left. In addition, an end-of-year routine transfers annual days left to next year, according to company policy.

There is also an online facility where employees can request an absence (e.g. annual leave, sick leave etc) and one or more supervisors can approved or declined the absence request. Employees and supervisors receive email notifications with every absence request, approval and/or decline.
Reports generated:
- Pending absence requests.
- Employee Absences by Employee, Absence Type.
- Employee Annual Leave status (remaining, transferred, balance).
